Business Diplomacy · Soft Landing · Go-to-Market

We help established companies cross borders and build lasting businesses in North America.

From Mexico City to Austin to Toronto, we combine market intelligence, strategic relationships and on-the-ground execution, so you enter with a plan, a network and partners who know the terrain.

In 1497, commissioned by Henry VII, King of England, Giovanni Caboto made the earliest known European exploration of coastal North America since the Norse. Today, we help organizations from around the world make their own crossing into North America.

What we do

Three disciplines, one crossing

Relationships

Business Diplomacy

We build the relationships that earn trust and open doors with the corporations, institutions and industry leaders that shape your market, including through 1497 Envoy Missions, our business and investment delegations.

Presence

Soft Landing

We set up your local presence: operating partners, professional advisers and the practical arrangements to start doing business.

Customers

Go-to-Market

We turn market intelligence into a plan, and the plan into qualified meetings, partners and first clients.

Our approach

Five stages, each building on the last

Every engagement starts with market intelligence and a North American blueprint, before you commit significant resources. From there, you engage us for the stages your expansion needs.

  1. 01

    Market Intelligence

    Understand the opportunity.

Commercial landscape, competitors, market size, regulation and the stakeholders who matter, so you know where and how to compete.

    Deliverable: Market Intelligence Report
  2. 02

    Strategic Blueprint

    Define the path.

Entry strategy, operating model, target customers and partners, geographic priorities, resource plan and timeline.

    Deliverable: North American Strategic Blueprint
  3. 03

    Soft Landing

    Establish a presence.

Local operating partners, introductions to legal, tax and accounting advisers, and the first commercial opportunities.

    Outcome: a credible local presence
  4. 04

    Business Diplomacy Signature

    Build the relationships.

Executive introductions, institutional partnerships, industry associations, roundtables and long-term relationship stewardship, with delegations delivered through 1497 Envoy Missions. Not sales or PR: shared interests and reciprocal value.

    Outcome: trust, access and credibility
  5. 05

    Strategic Partnerships

    Unlock growth.

Joint-venture and alliance partners, strategic corporate relationships, and a growth-capital strategy with introductions to appropriate partners.

Outcome: partners aligned with your objectives

We help companies become part of the market, rather than simply sell into it.
